if u open "my computer", u see a bar on the top, with buttons like "file", "edit", "view" etc......i m going to talk abt "favorites". if u click it u will see the bookmarks u have stored in ur Internet Explorer. but it can be used to bookmark locations on ur hard drive as well.

e.g., u frequently open a folder named "N'Sync" which is located in:

H:\english songs\video songs\N'Sync

now there r two ways to access it,
1) u open H drive, then english songs, then video songs, then N'Sync

or

2) open the folder "N'Sync" by the above path and then click on "favorites", and then on "add to Favorites"...........and its done. now all u have to do is just open my computer click on favorites and on "N'Sync" and u r in the folder.

u can add as many shortcuts here as u want, u can arrange those, make folders etc by clicking on "organize favorites"

Take note: Regardless of flavor of Vista you will be installing, the steps listed here are the same. The only difference would be which product key is entered to determine which flavor of Vista is installed.
Important Information

This guide assumes a "clean" installation and not an "upgrade" from a previous OS. Ensure that you backup all of your important files (documents, music, etc) to CD/DVD/another hard drive before following these steps.

If you are using Hard Disks in a RAID or ACPI setup, you will first need to download the latest Vista compatible (32-bit or 64-bit) for your particular hardware before installing clean. Check with your chipset/hard drive controllers manufactures web site for the latest drivers/information before starting.

Determine the operating system bit count
Locate the operating system that is running on your computer in this section, and then follow the steps to determine the bit count of your operating system.
Windows Vista
If you have Windows Vista, there are two methods to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other.
Method 1: View System window in Control Panel

Download Murphy's Laws

Murphy's Law: prov. The correct, original Murphy's Law reads: "If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it." This is a principle of defensive design, cited here because it is usually given in mutant forms less descriptive of the challenges of design for lusers. For example, you don't make a two-pin plug symmetrical and then label it `THIS WAY UP'; if it matters which way it is plugged in, then you make the design asymmetrical.

Edward A. Murphy, Jr. was one of the engineers on the rocket-sled experiments that were done by the U.S. Air Force in 1949 to test human acceleration tolerances (USAF project MX981). One experiment involved a set of 16 accelerometers mounted to different parts of the subject's body. There were two ways each sensor could be glued to its mount, and somebody methodically installed all 16 the wrong way around. Murphy then made the original form of his pronouncement, which the test subject (Major John Paul Stapp) quoted at a news conference a few days later.

Within months `Murphy's Law' had spread to various technical cultures connected to aerospace engineering. Before too many years had gone by variants had passed into the popular imagination, changing as they went. Most of these are variants on "Anything that can go wrong, will"; this is sometimes referred to as Finagle's Law. The memetic drift apparent in these mutants clearly demonstrates Murphy's Law acting on itself!
